Project Name: Breeding ecology and reproductive success of shrubsteppe songbirds in Montana

Objectives:

  1. To document the abundance and reproductive success of shrubsteppe songbirds across gradients in habitat structure, in order to better understand the habitat requirements of these species
  2. Investigate the fitness consequences of habitat preferences across multiple spatial scales for Brewer’s Sparrow
  3. Develop alternative hypotheses for why microhabitat structure affects nest predation risk and examine behavioral responses to experience with nest predation

Location: Carbon County, MT
